Celebrate the Earth Grocery Bag Project

In science class, Lathrop Street 5th Graders participated in an activity titled, “Who Polluted the Susquehanna?” They started with a container of clear water in the middle of the room representing a clean river hundreds of years ago.  Throughout the activity students saw how easily the river was polluted.  This opened up a great discussion on the importance of educating others about keeping our waterways healthy and clean.

Protect Our Earth Grocery Bag Project

Our Lathrop Street 5th Graders got hands-on with environmental science in their "Who Polluted the Susquehanna?" activity, seeing firsthand how easily rivers can become polluted. This experience led to fantastic discussions about keeping our water clean. To share their passion, they created amazing environmental messages and artwork on Price Chopper grocery bags, now out in the community spreading a vital message!
